Belgium Food Data API: Restaurant, Menu & Grocery Price Data

Le Pain Quotidien API

Le Pain Quotidien API provides structured restaurant, menu, and delivery data to power apps, analytics, and food delivery insights.

FoodSpark’s Belgium food data API delivers structured restaurant, menu and grocery data from Takeaway.com, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour Belgium and other Belgian sources, as JSON, CSV or a live API. Every record is tagged with city, postcode, region and listing language (Dutch, French or German), so you can compare Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia on the same terms.

What you get:

  • Restaurant and menu data: restaurant names, cuisines, dishes, prices, delivery fees, ratings and opening hours
  • Grocery data: product prices, unit prices (€/kg, €/l), promotions, EAN codes and availability
  • Belgium-ready fields: postcode, region, language and price channel (delivery, takeaway or dine-in)
  • Your delivery choice: a one-off dataset, a scheduled feed (daily or weekly) or an API endpoint

Why Belgian food data needs its own approach

Belgium is a small country, but it behaves like three markets. A dataset that ignores this mixes up prices and menus that cannot be compared.

  • Three languages, one market. Flanders lists menus and products in Dutch, Wallonia in French, the East Cantons in German, and Brussels in both Dutch and French. The same chain can name the same dish differently from one region to the next. We keep the original text and add a language tag, so you can match items across regions.
  • Two VAT channels. Restaurant meals eaten on site carry 12% VAT and all drinks 21%, while takeaway and delivered food stays at 6%. A planned rise of takeaway food to 12% was postponed in March 2026 and, as of mid-2026, had not been adopted. Delivery-app prices and dine-in menu prices are therefore not directly comparable, and the rules may still change. Each record carries a channel tag (delivery, takeaway or dine-in) so your price analysis stays fair.
  • A crowded delivery market. Uber Eats, Takeaway.com and Deliveroo are the main meal-delivery apps, and Too Good To Go (surplus food) led the food-delivery category in Belgian downloads in Q4 2025, according to Sensor Tower. The same restaurant is often listed on all three delivery apps, with different prices, fees and promotions on each.
  • A grocery price war. Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour Belgium, Albert Heijn, Aldi and Lidl compete hard on price. Ahold Delhaize says its Delhaize and Albert Heijn formats (about 85 Albert Heijn stores) are gaining share (May 2026). Carrefour calls Belgium a non-core market and keeps “all strategic options” open. Colruyt’s Collect&Go home delivery now reaches more than half of Belgian families (March 2025). Every one of these moves shows up first in shelf prices and promotions.

We collect publicly available data from the delivery apps, restaurant guides, and supermarkets that Belgians actually use, then merge it into one clean dataset.

Restaurant chains: menus, prices and store locations for chains such as Le Pain Quotidien, Exki and Quick.

Why not use the platforms’ own APIs? Takeaway.com, Uber Eats and Deliveroo offer partner APIs so their own restaurant partners can manage orders and menus. Those APIs only show your own store. They do not give market-wide data on competitors, prices or fees across a city. That is the gap a food data API fills.

Need a Belgian source that is not listed? We build custom crawlers for it.

What Teams Do With Belgium Food Data

  • Restaurant chains and franchises: price benchmarking. Compare your menu prices with nearby competitors, city by city. “Is our burger priced above rivals in Antwerp but below them in Liège?”
  • Delivery vs in-store pricing. Measure how much more the same dish costs on Takeaway.com, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, including delivery fees, service fees and minimum orders. “Which app is cheapest for a family order in Brussels?”
  • Grocery price monitoring. Track the same EAN across Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour, Albert Heijn, Aldi and Lidl, and see who cuts prices first. “How often does Delhaize match Colruyt on milk, eggs and bread?”
  • FMCG brands: shelf and promotion checks. See where your products are listed, which promotions run at each retailer, and how your price compares with private labels. “Is our 1+1 deal live at every retailer this week?”
  • Market entry and site selection. Map restaurant density by cuisine and postcode to find gaps. “Which Ghent postcodes have many students but few poke bowl restaurants?”
  • Investors and analysts. Follow restaurant counts, fees and promotions per delivery app, and price moves after grocery market changes. “Did Deliveroo’s restaurant count in Belgium grow this quarter?”
  • Food tech and apps. Build menu, recipe-cost, or meal-planning products on clean Dutch and French product and menu data.
  • VAT and price policy studies. Measure how menu prices react when VAT rules change, using the channel tag to separate takeaway from dine-in.

Belgium Food Data API: FAQs

What is a Belgium food data API?

It is a feed of structured data about Belgian restaurants, menus, delivery apps and supermarkets. FoodSpark collects it from sources such as Takeaway.com, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Colruyt and Delhaize, cleans it, and delivers it as JSON, CSV, Excel or a live API.

Which Belgian food delivery platforms can you extract data from?

Takeaway.com, Uber Eats and Deliveroo for meal delivery, and Too Good To Go for surplus food. We also collect restaurant data from Google Maps, Resto. be, and Tripadvisor, and can add other Belgian sources on request.

Does Takeaway.com have a public API for restaurant and menu data?

No public data API. Takeaway.com (Just Eat Takeaway.com) offers APIs to its own restaurant and POS partners so they can receive orders and manage their own menus. It does not return other restaurants’ menus, prices, or fees. For market-wide data, a provider like FoodSpark collects the publicly visible listings.

Can I get grocery prices from Colruyt, Delhaize and Carrefour Belgium?

Yes. We collect shelf prices, unit prices, promotions, EAN codes, and availability from Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour Belgium, Albert Heijn, Aldi, Lidl, and other Belgian retailers, down to store level where prices differ.

Do you deliver menus and products in Dutch, French and German?

Yes. We keep the original text as shown on the platform and add a language tag (nl, fr, de or en). For bilingual Brussels listings, we capture both versions where the platform shows them.

How do you handle VAT in Belgian food prices?

We capture prices exactly as customers see them, which in Belgium includes VAT. As of mid-2026, takeaway and delivered food is taxed at 6%, dine-in meals at 12% and drinks at 21%; a planned rise for takeaway was postponed. Each price carries a channel tag, so you can compare like with like.

Can I get a list of all restaurants in Brussels, Antwerp or Ghent?

Yes. We can build a restaurant database for any Belgian city or postcode list, with name, address, cuisine, rating, opening hours, and the delivery apps each restaurant uses.

How often is the data updated?

You choose: a one-time dataset, daily, weekly or a custom schedule. Price and promotion tracking usually runs daily or weekly.

Is it legal to scrape food data in Belgium?

We collect publicly available business data such as listings, menus, prices, and product details. We do not collect personal data like reviewer names, and we follow GDPR. Each website’s terms and your intended use also matter, so check your specific use case with your legal team.

How do I get a free sample?

Click “Get a Free Belgium Sample”, tell us the platform, city and fields you need, and we send you 100 rows to test before you commit.
