FoodSpark’s China food data API delivers restaurant, menu, and delivery data from Meituan, Taobao Shangou, and JD. You can then get it as JSON, CSV, or a live API feed. Every record also carries the city, district, and map coordinates, so you can compare Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen fairly.

In short, you get:

  • Delivery app data: stores, menus, prices, fees, discounts and monthly sales
  • Review data: Dianping ratings, review counts and price per person
  • China-ready fields: packaging fees, spend-and-save offers and GCJ-02 coordinates
  • Flexible delivery: a one-off dataset, a scheduled feed or live API access

Why the China Food Data API Needs Local Detail

China’s delivery market, however, works very differently from the US or Europe. So, data that ignores local details leads to unfair comparisons. That is why our China food data API captures each detail as its own field.

  • Three big platforms: Before 2025, Meituan held an estimated 75% to 80% of the market. Then JD entered food delivery in February 2025 and set off a subsidy war. Since then, analysts put Meituan near half, with Taobao Shangou close behind and JD in single digits.
  • A new name for Ele.me: Alibaba renamed the Ele.me app Taobao Shangou on December 5, 2025. As a result, older data may use either name.
  • Tighter price rules: New Internet Platform Pricing Rules took effect on April 10, 2026. In addition, regulators drafted ten rules on delivery subsidies in June 2026. So prices and discounts now change under closer watch.
  • Separate fees: Apps show a packaging fee (打包费) apart from the delivery fee. Spend-and-save discounts (满减) also change the final price.
  • Monthly sales: Listings often show monthly sales (月售) for stores and dishes. As a result, they are a rare public signal of demand.
  • Shifted coordinates: Chinese maps use GCJ-02, which sits 100 to 700 metres from GPS. Baidu also adds its own BD-09 system on top.

Sources Covered by the China Food Data API

The China food data API collects public data from the apps and chains Chinese diners use most. Then we merge it into one clean dataset. Each linked name also opens its full API page.

Delivery and Review Apps

PlatformOwnerData you get
MeituanMeituanStores, menus, prices, fees, discounts, and monthly sales

JD Food DeliveryJD.comStores, menus, prices and subsidies

Douyin group buyingByteDanceIn-store meal deals and set-menu prices

So why not use the platforms’ own APIs? In fact, Meituan and Ele.me have long run open platforms for merchants and software partners. However, those tools manage a merchant’s own store and orders. As a result, they do not show competitor menus or market-wide prices.

Restaurant Chains

Chains: we cover large chains such as KFC and Starbucks. Their store networks are huge, too. For example, Yum China ran 19,297 stores on June 30, 2026, including 13,789 KFCs. Similarly, Luckin Coffee had 36,310 stores, while Mixue had about 64,000 worldwide.

Outside the mainland: Hong Kong uses different apps, including Meituan’s Keeta. Keeta also runs in the Middle East and Brazil, so see our UAE and Brazil pages.

Need a source that is not listed? Then we build a custom crawler and add it to your China food data API feed. For managed Meituan projects, also see our Meituan data scraping service.

Cities and Regions in the China Food Data API

The China food data API covers every city a source app serves. Even so, the largest markets usually matter most.

City tierExamplesWhy it matters
First-tier citiesBeijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and ShenzhenThe densest competition and highest prices
New first-tier citiesChengdu, Hangzhou, Wuhan and ChongqingFast-growing food scenes and chains
Lower-tier citiesHundreds of smaller citiesValue chains such as Mixue are strong here

For example, you can compare one chain’s prices in Shanghai and Chengdu. Likewise, you can check how deep discounts run in each city tier.

How the China Food Data API Handles Location

China has six-digit postcodes, but people rarely use them. So we key each record to its city, district, and map coordinates instead. Chinese maps, however, use GCJ-02, which sits 100 to 700 metres from GPS. Then the China food data API converts it to WGS-84 or BD-09, so pins land in the right place.

Formats and Delivery

You can get the data as JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML. In addition, we can push it to a database, cloud storage, or your own endpoint. Refresh rates, meanwhile, range from real-time and daily to weekly or monthly.

How It Works

  1. Share your needs: tell us the apps, cities, and fields you want.
  2. Review a sample: check a free China sample first.
  3. Set up the feed: then we configure crawlers, schedules, and quality checks.
  4. Stay covered: finally, we fix the crawlers whenever an app changes.

What Teams Do With the China Food Data API

Teams use the China food data API to follow a market that is still settling after the subsidy war. For example, they:

  1. Track the market split: count stores and follow prices on Meituan, Taobao Shangou, and JD, city by city.
  2. Watch subsidies: follow spend-and-save offers and coupons as the new price rules take hold.
  3. Measure demand: use monthly sales to see which dishes and chains sell most.
  4. Compare chains: track Luckin, KFC, and Mixue prices and store counts by city.
  5. Find true prices: add packaging and delivery fees to menu prices.
  6. Feed AI and dashboards: use fresh, structured data instead of reports that go stale.

Because discounts and rules keep shifting, a one-off report ages fast. So a scheduled feed usually works better.

China Food Data API: FAQs

What is a China food data API?

A China food data API gives your software structured data from Chinese delivery apps and restaurants. For example, it includes menus, prices, fees, discounts, and monthly sales. So your apps and dashboards always work with fresh data.

Can you extract Meituan menu data?

Yes. We collect public Meituan menus, prices, fees, discounts and monthly sales by city or district. In addition, each dish stays linked to its store ID.

Is Ele.me the same as Taobao Shangou?

Yes. Alibaba renamed the Ele.me app Taobao Shangou on December 5, 2025. Its filings call the business Taobao Instant Commerce.

Do you cover JD food delivery?

Yes. JD entered food delivery in February 2025, and we collect its stores, menus, prices, and subsidies. We also cover Meituan, Taobao Shangou, and Dianping.

Which coordinate system do you use?

By default, we keep the GCJ-02 coordinates that Chinese maps use. However, we can also convert them to WGS-84 for GPS tools or BD-09 for Baidu Maps.

Is the data legally sourced?

We collect only public listing data, such as menus, prices, ratings, and availability. In other words, we never collect personal or login-protected data. We also design the feed with China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) in mind.

How do I get a free sample?

Just tell us the app, city, and fields you need. Then we send a free sample, usually as JSON or CSV.
